Just got my 2.4C from NEWEGG in the mail, are malaysians good overclockers?

I still haven't even gotten it home yet, but I rmember reading somewhere that with the AMD chips, certain codes on the box and/or CPU give you a hint as to how much of an overclock you MIGHT get. Is it the same with INTEL CPU's? My chip if from Malaysi, THE FPO/BATCH is L321A636; VERSION#: C30333-003; PACK DATE: 06/16/03; MM# 852314 and PRODUCT CODE# BX80532PG2400DSL6WF. I have a feeling that I just eneterd all those numbers in for naught. I know, I know, there are no guarantees, but hey, maybe somebodies got some info that will get me psyched (more than I am already) to go home and plop this puppy into a IS7 mobo with a MAZE3 CPU and ZCHIP WB cooling!!! Not to mention I also just got me 512MB of OCZ4200 EL. Hope this puppy flies! WAHOO!!! Gonna be a gooooooood weekend...Muwahahahahah!

It is a matter of luck, but MALAY P4C chips in general are better overclockers than CostaRica ones.

Actaully, it's about 8 threads down in this same section. It's titled "Best stepping for 2.4C for overclocking" It pretty much answers all my questions with a link to the CPU database. It doesn't answer my questiopn exactly, but there is a ton of infor in there to make a pretty good assumption. From the sound of it, I think buying from NEW EGG was the way to go. Sometimes you just get lucky I guess.

The key IMO (non scientific but from what I have watched here and elsewhere) is the 321 which stands for week 21 of 2003....I have noticed chips week 21 or later have a much better chance of getting past 3.2ghz...Ofcourse 3.2ghz will take a 267fsb so lets if the ram does 533mhz as specified to keep that 1:1....Much higher and you will be running 5:4 ratio for sure and could have saved a butt-load for sure.....

I don't understand ppl spending so much on ram with such piss-poor cas timings...I guess for bragging rights in sandra scores!!!

Ordered my 2.4C today (from NewEgg). Should have it by early next week. I'll cross my fingers that I got one from Malaysia based on what I've read here.
