Just got McAfee Antivirus -- IT IS SLOW

ZoneAlarm suite subscription expired and they want $35 to renew for another year. Figured I'd get the free McAfee Antivirus and Firewall from Comcast --- since free is good.

I'm scanning the drive now and it seems like its like 3x slower scanning than ZoneAlarm
 
yeah well. remember that PS3 vs. Wii thing on google video? how the fat girl says that good things cost good money? ZoneAlarm may not be the cheapest, but it is one of the best. if you're looking for a free firewall, i've heard good things about Commodo firewall. as for AV, try AVG, or as Klin suggested antivir.
 
AOL Active Virus Shield has worked great for me - free, based on Kaspersky (best detection rate), minimal impact on performance.
