<----Just got "Kid A" Limited edition in the mail

Mp3's AIN"T GOT SHAT ON THIS MAN.

Itunes and simpilar websites are nice, but when it comes down to it, if you have speakers and a nice reciever, you can't beat CDs. It's like I am hearing with my ears "open." D

If anything, the most amazing thing that Mp3's took from this music was the distortion. Radiohead's CD is GORGEOUS...except "Idioteque" which I jsut can't "accept." "Mourning Bell" almost brought me to tears. The "noise" coming from my sub is hypnotic

Gets ready to pop in "OK Computer" 😀

<---repeatedly kisses his Mirage speakers. Frx-5 being their cheapest floorstanders my ass...They ROCK!

EDIT: and lay off the hostilities...I had English and chem lectures today, did some "car repairs" 😀, and just came from a 4 hour CISCO class.😀

By the way, I got both for like $17 New and sealed...actually OK COMPUTER was used, but I can't tell..the CD and case are well, perfect.

man there is no greater feeling then relaxing to some quality-sounding music. While I've never heard of the Lim. Ed. Kid A. I am very familiar w/ the album and yes, mp3 are great for sharing music, but if you are an audio enthusiest(?) there is no substitution for the original cd. Actually I think they make some type of gold cds that are supposed to be better than store bought albums, but don't quote me on that.

<---jealous of your system

If you really wanted great sound, you'd get it on vinyl 😉 Or maybe DVD-Audio (if that's even available for those albums)...

😀

Maybe you mean SACD's or DVD-Audio. I have the 6 channel inputs. If the bands I like start putting out SACD's I might bite😀

My system isn't that great, but I LOVe it, as I saved FOREVER to get it.

Onkyo Tx-sr600 $404 with shipping early 2003
Mirage Frx-5 Fronts $430 with shippinf early 2003
Athena ASP-400 10'' 100 watt 400watt peak Subwoofer😀 $340 shipped with a nice subwoofer cable..I was foolish...hell of a cable though😀

I Love this thing. I AIN'T Shat OR Audiphile quality, but it will definitely expose Mp3s 😀... LAME is nice though, but my subwoofer picks it up.

I currently have it connected to my HTPC which is plugged into my reciever via Optical/toslink.

It simply puts a smirk on my face everytime I pop in a CD...from Rage againist the Machine to Radiohead to Coldplay....

...In the end that is all I want.🙂 Sure I will try to get some Martin Logans or something audiophile grade once I get out of college and have a nice income😀....acutally I need to get a complete 5.1 or 6.1 set before that, but a 2.1 set is all I need right now😀

I was using some POS Technics for rears and a POS Aiwa speaker for the center, but it made the overall experince , well, "blah." Don't get me wrong, DTS tracks KICKED ass, but they sounded no where near as good as if all my speakers were Mirage or higher grade.

2.1 for now🙂

EDIT: Like OMG; I had never heard a high-quality Version of "Paranoid Android." I think I just wet myself.

And no, my sub is not running hot😀 I messed and bitched it into submission. It SOUNDS .....like..woah

...

I have to wait to get some $$. My Work Study job hasn't paid me in over a month:|

I had to give up eating for Radiohead😉

Gold CD
When I worked in a music store, there were a couple of guys always hunting these things down - they retailed for about $25 as opposed to 17 or so for the regular disc.

no, MBony is refering to standard CD's pressed in gold. They were basically a gimmick. after all, 0's and 1's are the same no matter what the disc is made of. but they looked pretty cool.

i'm ready to get SACD or DVD-A as soon as there's something worth buying. my band will actually be recording our next album in DVD-A quality, although I doubt we'll have the opportunity to release it to the public on anything other than CD.

Sweet. i can't WAIT to try out my reciever's 192Khz/24bit DAC's 😀 Unfortunately, mine was the last model made with only two🙁. Most of Onkyo's new ones come with 6 DACs of that caliber.

By limted edition, which it is, they mean that it is an import(i think) and it comes with a nice little hardback book with lyrics and artworks.

<---gets ready to fire up his CD burner so this stuff stays in pristine condition😀

By the way, how do you get rid of the copy protection using the marker? My damn RATM "battle of LA" cd has it, and I want to put it on an MD disk for the gym.

Thanks
