Had my tonsils taken out.....Uvala removed...adnoids removed....and septum fixed. I am kinda hurtin, but the payoff should make all of this worth it! Thank God for pain killers!

PS.....this is hard on us old people!

Heh, I my tonsils and adnoids removed when I was 27. It takes FOREVER to heal, and after the first week, my doctor wouldn't prescribe any more pain killers. I substituted high doses of Advil, and irritated my stomach lining so much I needed to take meds for that.

You'll be as good as new after three weeks of agony :D

I am 40 and have Severe Sleep Apnea. My airway would calapse as soon as I would fall asleep. I quit breathing for as long as 2 minutes at a time. I suck so hard for air, that I pull vomit into my mouth from my diaphram! They needed to get rid of all of this stuff to give me an airway.

Hey sysadmin,

I'm an otolaryngology resident (i.e. training to do to others what you had done to you). Were you on CPAP prior to the surgery?

Drink lots of water, stay well hydrated. It helps with the postoperative pain.
Feel better.

I had my tonsils removed when i was 7.

damn, no more uvula. You better be careful drinking soda, that'll hurt like a bitch getting that ctuff up your nose.

Yes, I was on a CPAP since Feb. I couldnt keep it on though. I would fall asleep, when I woke up it was off. My nose was too plugged to tolorate it. Man, I just looked in my mouth, they did a lot of sh!t in there, there is hardly anything left! I just hope that it is worth all of this, and I can now sleep correctly.

The pain killer is less and less effective. I cant sleep more than an hour at a time. Hot and Cold flashes. Damn.....I hope I start getting better soon! On top of all of this, I have ingrown nails on both big toes! When it rains......it poors.
If the pain from this surgery was a 10 on Wednesday......its a 9 this morning (Sunday). Someone tell me that it gets a lot better.......soon! I have eaten 3eggs since wednesday, and a little blended fruit. I eat as much as I can. The only thing in my stomach is medicine and blood....ew.
My nose is super plugged from the splints inside them.......wtf.......I wonder if this was worth it.
