I just upgraded from the ATI Rage Fury 32mb to the Hercules Kyro2 64mb. I pulled my ATI card out and popped in the Kyro card without taking out the windows drivers for the ATI card. I then brought up Windows safe mode and removed the ATI drivers. I rebooted into Windows and installed the Herc drivers. I reboot and the windows loads but the screen goes comepletely black right at the opening screen. I booted back into safe mode and reinstalled the latest Herc drivers from their web site. Still the same problem. I went into the Bios and set everything to Herc standards. Still the same problem. I tried booting up in tv mode with monitor mode also. Still the same problem.

Window loads fine until the opening screen is supposed to appear. Then it appears to be feeding my monitor with a signal. But the screen is completely black. Can anyone help me?

Boot back into Safe-mode, and change the video driver to the "standard pci graphics adapter". Reboot the system and see if the display at least loads into Windows without going black again.

If that works, then it appears your Herc driver install fuzzed-up, download the newest driver again and reinstall.

If this still doesn't work it sounds like your ATI drivers are still in your system and loading when they shouldn't. Make sure you remove all traces of them.

Good Luck
