From a seller on ebay which apparently gets them as bulk from Dell as replacements.
I was skeptical at first and paid with my AMEX just in case I can do paypal dispute and charge back if I need to return.

However I just got the card and it is indeed brand new GTX 1080 FE coming directly from Dell

I know it is the FE, but I don't care much about bit of noise as I am headphones all the time, as long as it hits 2GHz+ I will be happy.

Looks like my 980 Ti is going on sale soon:D

Congrats on a good deal! I'd take a look at aftermarket coolers. You can have one for relatively cheap. You might not care about noise, but a better cooler would allow the GPU to hit higher performance thresholds. If we assume you will sell your 980 Ti for something like $350 in a good scenario then your net upgrade cost(so far) is only $150. That's a good deal.

Now the question is if you play at 1440p or above, because otherwise I think your GPU is truly overkill.

Well I got my 1080 for 580 no tax, ordered the same day from amazon and received it the same day as well. Did not get gow 4 but since I kept exchanging video cards at microcenter I got like two other gow 4 codes left. Got the card for basically 520.

Anyone need the code pm me, not sure if the code is blacklisted but it won't hurt to try since all the codes I got was unique.

Plus I can't get myself to actually choose the 1070 over the 1080 no matter how much less it costs. For 144 gaming the 1080 is a much better choice because while it's far off in some games it's still noticeable ahead the 1070 in most.

I do play at 1440p ;)
Getting 2GHz+ now on GPU with few tweeks, haven't reached maximum overclock yet before the card gets unstable.

ZOTAC AMP edition for $599 with a free game, so $500 for FE is not that great of a deal.

Still, about $50 less and Zotac AMP cooler is not great, not much different from the FE cooler
