Welcome to the TeAm, insolence 🙂

When you configure the client, put 198 for the TeAm number. Use what you want for the name. If you add more computers make sure the name is exactly the same or you will have two accounts. You can always reconfigure.

If you need more/better instructions, say if you have the GUI or console client.

Why not run it all the time? The GUI can remain unobtrusively in the taskbar, or the CLI can run as a service - entirely hidden on Windows NT, 2000, or XP. Whenever you need CPU cycles for anything else, the client will transparently take a back seat, and thus will not affect any of your other programs. The only time you might run into problems is if you have a very small amount of RAM (say less than 256MB); then multitasking performance would likely be affected.

I would be more worried about running bittorrent these days than I would Folding@home
