I like the game for what it is. A lot of people were expecting it to be a major life-changing experience or something (although given, it WAS overhyped - but then again almost everything is), and when it didn't turn out that way, they said it was crap. 😛

lol...so true after reading user reviews here on AT:thumbsup:

I'm curious how the quality of the graphics are on the Xbox version...

honestly not that bad....the introduction movie is pretty bad (you can see jaggies) but gameplay is more thank OK considering hardware and ported software

Oh...and I'm planning on playing the game this summer on my friend's large HDTV and $2500 speaker system. (This will be from my computer, of course.) I can't wait.

I liked it. I was expecting a game like Doom 1 and 2, and thats what I got. People try to compare this to HL-2, when the comparison is not very fair. Sure I like HL2 better, but I like HL2 for what it is just like I like Doom3 for what it is and Farcry for what it is.

I am pretty impressed by them. Arguably the best looking game on the Xbox (SC:CT) may nudge it out. Looks just like the PC version at medium. Just lower res and some jaggies. Smooth framerate too @ 30fps.

I stopped playing it after I fell out of my chair when an ugly ass motherf!cker jumped out from under the steps.

Well I assume lower resolution textures and lower polygon counts are used and of course jaggies and probably some blurry textures without decent AF. I just wonder HOW low the resolution and polygon counts are on the Xbox version. Would be nice to see a side by side screenshot of the same area/baddie.

By the way... is it 720p capable?

ROFL! 😀

Doom 3 was pretty creepy. I beat it once and I didn't play again... Half Life 2 was less terrifying and more enjoyable IMO.
