Just got contacts today

Not that anyone will care much, but I finally got some contacts today after wearing classes for about 4 years, and if you've been considering it and haven't checked them out yet, I've found them to be great 🙂 They'll take a little getting used to comfort wise, but I couldn't be happier with them, now when I don't want to wear my freakin glasses, I won't have to 🙂

I love contacts. I never had a problem with them comfort-wise, but learning how to put them in was a pain.

hehe, even years after getting contacts, it can still be a bitch occasionally. 🙂 Congrats, it's quite the big difference.

Agreed, contacts are great. I've had mine for a little over 3 years after having had glasses for about 10 and I haven't looked back. I wear my contacts during the day and glasses at night. Works just fine.

What kind of contacts did they give you?

I'm pretty sure they're Acuvue, I have to wait a week until I get a normal box of lenses (I have a follow up in a week, then they'll set me up)

end of first day, eyes stinging a little bit after wearing them from 11:30am to 5:00 pm... my friend told me I should've only gone for 3 hrs the first day *shrug*

🙂

Thats funny I just paid 300 bucks for glasses today🙂 I love contacts but not having a pair of glasses to wear after I take em out kinda sucked... And like the other guy said even after 2 years of wearing them I still have trouble once in a while getting them in...

Crazymofo, I picked up my glasses yesterday too 🙂 I kinda got the contacts on a whim, I figured since I was getting my eyes examined, why not grab a box once I get set up and see how I like em?

I have had contacts for 12 years I can put them on and take em off in the dark. You get used to it after awhile..

I got contacts recently too. My brand is the CooperVision one.

Watch out ot make sure thoes contacts don't fall out. If you wear them for too long (during the beginning stages) they may fall out. Happened to me twice.
Also make sure you put them in the right way! It's soo hard to tell which side is right side up.

Also to geno and other contact users, do you guys notice a lot of glare when using them in the night? Especially when driving in the night with lots of lights around you (ie: car lights, building, signs, etc...)

I get "halos" around all the lights at night. I thought it was just those of us trying "mono-vision" contacts.

Yeah, it took me a week or two to get good at putting my contacts in.

does the blink reflex go away after a while?

yup, probably will take a couple of months though

Weird....I have never blinked when trying to put my contacts in...maybe the FIRST time, but not after that.

I'd say you are the exception to the rule!

Different people have different sensitivities. After 12 years of wearing contacts, I think I could pop in anything nowadays and my eyes would not react.
