i just turned on the tv I got ALL the channels!!!
I am paying for like .. 27 channels (no discovery, mtv, history, tlc, etc.. just local)

but I have all ! SWEET

When you turn your TV off make sure to unplug the cable box. When you first get cable it's installed with everything and then the installer calls up home base and tells them what set up you should have. If you unplug the box while not using it you will have the free channels for longer. Eventually it will get set up right, but at least this way it might last a bit longer. My friend did this for about 2 weeks before it eventually hit him and took away the free channels.

*Or at least that's what I heard*

with comcast, if it's a very good day I'll get 200, normally it'll go 50-150

I'm in one of their test zones with 3mb connections. I usually average around 380 - 400.

pcpitstop.com has internet connection speed benches.

That thing gathers all kinds of info about your machine just to run the speed test.

Run away!!!
Dear god, then they'll know what version of windows you run!
and what processor you have!!!

I don't think for the bandwidth test you need to install their testing utility, I think that's just for their full testing.

It depends on the server, but I can get as much as 420k down on a good server with InsightBB in IL.

Average is in the low 300s.

I hate you bastages.

and yes 240 is avg, the cap is usually @ 200-250 k

I have OOL and am going to reply anyway. To save you all a bit of hated towards us I won't mention my real speeds, I'll merely say that I used to get 500-600K, but replacing a slightly defective modem with a red hot Surfboard4200 made things MUCH better.
