Just got bit by the Chrysler alternator recall

Well, my brother did, this morning. 2012 GC 3.6L 39K miles.

Battery light, shaking, smoking alternator...

Looks like the alternator is probably undersized for the electric motor on the power steering...

Well, the alternator will be replaced with one with a higher rating for free by the dealer, apparently.

It will be towed today.

Everything was paid for under the recall, including the tow.

Has a nice shiny new alternator.

Sounds like he was hit by the issue, not the recall. If it was the recall, I'd imagine it would have been into the dealership before it went t up?

The recall notice arrived the day it was towed.

It was covered by the recall.
