I had a freakin 4.00 Major GPA... until this semester... I had to screw up on the worst possible course two semesters before I graduate.. I got a freakin B..... I know.. boohoo.. but I worked so hard for my good grades and I threw it all away... I can't believe it. I should've studied harder... man, I had no idea this was coming... I thought there would definitely be a curve since most of the class was doing horrible... guess I was wrong.
I feel so depressed right now.. I can't believe I slipped up. I suck...

A B, that's awesome in comp arch. I'm literally hoping I just get a C or D. I usually get As or Bs in everything, but this class is killing me. I wish I'd had a good professor.

Thats not the point... I put my sweat and blood into getting good grades for all my CS courses and its all gone. Its not about my job.. its about all that effort to get good grades just went down the toilet... just like that.

You're over reacting. A B doesn't mean that you are a bad student or didn't put effort in. It's just a grade.

News flash: a B is a good grade. Good thing you're not a chemical engineer, where C is average and B is outstanding. :p

But I had a 4.00 Major GPA man.. I spent sleepless nights studying for the hardest courses to get an A... and I lost it on this stupid course. I was aiming on graduating with a perfect major GPA and its gone!! I still can't believe it.. I'm so freakin crushed right now.

wow did you even have any fun in college or just work all the time?

i couldn't imagine how much work i would have done to get a 4.0 in college.

Getting a B now, doesn't negate any of the hard work you put in. YOu still worked hard, still learned, and still accomplished things.

But you need to relax and not stress over it. It will have absolutely zero impact on your future.

Its going to be near to impossible to graduate with summa cum laude now... it makes me want to kill myself now...

Why do you talk like that about those grades. They are very good gpa's to have. Just breathe, and think about the real world... not college. You will still get a good job and a paycheck. That wouldn't be different if you had received an A.

I read somewhere that people that graduate with 3.0-3.5 GPAs are hired more often then those with a perfect GPA. Something about people with lower GPAs have experienced failure, dealt with it, but still came out being successful. From the reaction of the OP about is one B and wanting to kill himself over it, that theory sounds about right....

I think you even stress more than my last roommate who was obsessed with school. It doesn't matter dude... I understand about working hard to get all As, but you still worked hard and got a good grade.

There's a guy at my school who sounds just like you. He shuts himself in his room all the time to study, whines about how much work he has to do (history major -- cant be worse than other majors), and gets pissed off at himself if he gets a 91% on a paper (which is still a friggin A)... A lot of people are annoyed by him since he's always "too busy" doing homework.

My manager after my internship told me this. He said that they don't want to hire people that only study. In the real world you work with teammates and you have to be able to socialize with your co-workers, not just work by yourself all day.

Typically, if your GPA is above 3.0 (some places prefer 3.5), it's more about who you know and not what you know. Everyone that graduated passed the same classes. So stop studying and get out and meet some people. One of them might be your future boss. I got a B in my comp architecture class a few years ago and it definitely didn't stop me from getting a great job once I graduated.

Go get drunk and stop worrying about 1 stupid B!!!

DO IT !

On a side note, I walked into my comp. arch class and asked the prof "Can you just give me a C if I don't take the final ?"

"Sure."

So I walked out.

 For underachieving
