Just got back from Vegas!

w00t! had lotsa fun... got upgraded on my player cards to 'high roller' status.... w00t x 2

flight just came in at 7:30am (took the redeye).... so i'm a bit tired.... and i came home UP almost $2k....

mebbe i'll get some pics up later, after i sleep a few winks.


The Rio Seafood buffet is incredible... but the SHRIMP on the Mandalay Bay Seafood Buffet is the largest i've seen... overall... Mandalay Bay buffet over Rio.

here are two machines that i won on (at the same time)...

The one on the left.. i hit the progressive (three gorilla logos) for about a $1200 payout. The one on the right, i hit the mini-jackpot (three tower logos) for a $300 payout.

I actually started playing the one on the left, after the machine ran out of coins during the payout on the right.... guess i was meant to win those

The $1500 i won from those two jackpots went straight to my wallet

yep... i like the Strat... i know some people don't.... i do... i get lots of comps and stuff.... this whole trip, the room was comped.

the first time I stayed at the stratosphere, they upgraded me to an executive suite, so naturally I went back there for a sat stay for 45$, but they didn't upgrade me that time. The room was ok, but the walls are paper thin and the AC was loud. Probably won't stay there next time. I DO love their casino thou, its cheap and not crowded, and I win money there most of the time.

Only been to vegas once...lost a butlload of money all over town. Slots are the devil .

I am hoping to play more blackjack and maybe do some of that crapless craps there at the Strat.

We stayed at the Flamingo last trip, wanted to stay at the rio, but was too expensive. We are going to try out Sam's Town in Jan. Place looks super sweet.

going back to vegas in 2 weeks (went at the end of july). i cant wait to return. staying at ny, ny. last time i went though, stayed at the strat, you were right about the paper thin walls and a/c, and also, i wish it wasnt at the very very end of the strip, but after winning at the strat last time, this is why im staying at ny, ny this time. cant wait to hit those tables and go back to the mandalay bay buffet. i liked their buffet. my friend has been to the one at rio and said he likes the mandalay bay one better.

Sam's Town is ghetto and really far from the strip, like on the other side of the valley from it... just wanted to warn you (although they do have a shuttle). If you're looking for a cheaper place, try the Sahara, Tropicana or Strat - they're all on the Strip and are pretty comparable in price to Sam's Town.

if u dont have a car, sam';s town has the most extensive shuttle service in vegas (3 routes for lower strip, upper strip, and downtown, and multiple times per hr for each route).

and i;e gotten rooms at $29.99 from hotel.com! (normal price $39)

nice rooms too, compared to casino royale's rooms ($49.99).

the only other hotel i've stayed in is the Venetian. ok, it's a $1B hotel. of course it's going to be better. but it also costs $119/night. and casino rate rooms = $12500 coin in at the slots. free room = $25k.

best bang for the buck is Hilton (friend stayed there). nicer than sam;s. MUCH nicer than casino royale. $59/night

hilton, free room = $7k coin in

venetian > hilton > sam's > casino royale

Sam's definately wasn't our first choice, but the time we were going turned out to be during CES. Every place was overbooked and their rates tripled what sams town was. After going to their site and reading some online reviews, we chose to stay there. We are paying for the whole week what we would have had to pay for 1 night at some of the strip casinos. Besides, we are using a car and you can valet everywhere real easy. Next trip will be back on the strip or at the Rio.
