I went to Virginia (Shenandoah National Park area) with some family for a week, had a great time. I didn't take alot of pics, I was taking video instead, but here are a few. We stayed at a gorgeous place called Shadow Mountain Escape (highly recommended for anyone looking for a place to stay in that area). We got to see a bear (almost hit it with the car), a wild turkey and other wildlife, which was nice.

Some pics of the place we stayed:

Some pics from Skyline Drive:
Random butterfly
Mountain view
The road
Sister, nephew and bro-in-law

Monticello pics:

Stopped in Washington on the way back home:

White house at night

wow you are a lifer and bumped your own thread w/in 10 minutes ... pretty sad 😛

anyways, nice pics. that looks like the house in Wedding Crashers. And DC is way overrated after living less than a mile from it your entire life heh.

Beautiful area. I live in Winchester, VA and go to school in Harrisonburg, VA. Luray is about halfway between them. The valley is filled with this stuff.

No, we did not. I will never camp out again.
I used to be a big camper, went backpacking every year for at least a week at a time. The last time (few years ago in the Adirondack Mountains) I got awakened at about 4 AM by loud panting and grunting. A huge bear brushed against my tent and reminded me that there is a reason why humans progressed from sleeping in the woods to 5 star hotels. 🙂

We went through the caverns too, really nice. Skyline is just beautiful. It really is.

Nice pics.

I had a dream last night about a bear chasing me. I had to climb one leg of a huge metal tripod to get away from it. 😕
