Just got back from the bowling green national tractor pull championships

ok. i couldnt get video. it was being recorded by discovery channel i believe to be aired sometime. However i do have pictures, but they are film cuz i dont have a digital camera. and will have to scan them. It was amazing though. i got to see, 2wd trucks, tractors, and unlimited modifieds.

tractors basically were tractors with like 2 turbos in one class, 1 turbo in the other. prolly 2k HP i would guess.

2wd trucks were up to 4 engines. some had turbines, some had old allison v12 airplane engines (2 of them on the vehicle) and were probably around 5k HP total.

unlimited modifieds i believe was what the one wa called, and it had tractors in it, like the Silver Bullet (search google) which has a CAT engine in it, and 3 turbos i believe around 5k HP.

and there was another 2wd class forget its name but you had 5 engines, 3 turbines, 5 turbines, 3 allison airplane engines in it. now that IS LOUD!!!

and of course you had the wild side of the stadium where you had girls flashin and one girl showin her ass it was great. alcohol was flowing (i had none)

but try to catch it on discovery or wherever it will be shown.

and one more thing. shows like this would make California cry mommy, and any greenie sh!t his pants, the smoke from the tractors was BLACk and i mean BLACK and there were 40 some of them, and other BLACK smoke makers.

I go to any ATPA event I can, I love going to the pulls. The smokin' diesels are my favorite though. That much power is just... just.... ~No words to describe~ Wow.

I know Bowling Green is NTPA. I live in the North East, and it is all ATPA, so that is the only ones I really get to go to. ATPA is bigger than NTPA and they have more events, something like 250 a year.

Crap!! I thought that was later in the fall. I wanted to go see that not only for the pull but because Bowling Green is where the wife went to school and its kinda a neat little town.

Sorry I missed it. But we did make it to Attica for the combine demolition derby, and the pedal tractor pull competition. Cute.

We have tractor pulls in CA too =) ...unless something has changed...haven't been to one in like 8 years or more

Also they ussually have superchargers (driven by belt off driveshaft) instead of turbochargers (driven by exhaust gases+turbine)
