And I have to say (and this is very rare) that this movie did not in any way disappoint me. It was incredible to every single level. The art direction, acting, casting, and dialogue were all spot-on.
*Slight spoilers*
The movie is divided into three sections.
The first, (the best, in my opinion), is about a low-down thug named Marv who goes on a murderous rampage to avenge a woman. It's amazingly acted, and Rourke is amazing for the part. He fits perfectly.
The second is about the whole section of Old Town almost being busted. Again, superb. It's told like a true noir novella.
The third is about Hartigan (Willis) and Nancy (Alba). Well done, too. It really clinches the story and uses the film technique to great detail.
Best movie ever.
Overall, they stayed very true to the comics, and I really can't find a fault with the movie. Any humor in there was well-placed and rather hilarious, due to the context.
