Wow NYC is a busy place.........................
thursday - I had to go to work in long island..rented a car for Newark ehhhhh tolls are killer and spent like 5 hours in traffic (Verrazano bridge is 6 bucks to cross grr) - anyways spent the whole day mostly in long island driving around... Later that night we stayed at a Hostel around 55 CENTRAL PARK NORTH110TH ST AND LENOX AVE - I thought I was going to robbed around there but still not bad for 45 bucks a night (you had to share a unisex bathroom.
Friday - Was able to get the Waldorf Astoria for $100 on priceline for two nights. The Waldorf is great - very accomadating to say the least. Walk to time square + shopped etc.
Sat. - was going to half price tickets for shows in the middle of time square but really didn't feel like waiting in a 2 mile line. Instead went down to Smithsonian - Native American museum (free - very intresting). Then walked the Brooklyn Bridge.. Later walked too chinatown and my sister got a turtle (the real little ones) didn't have a chance to eat there but just admired the scenery. That night - went to a place in Little Italy - Panazio (sp) - not bad very affordable.
Sun - took the subway to LGA - we got off the subway it what seemed to be a bad neighberhood. I think they knew we weren't from there. I have never been on a bus with so many people (m60).
Anyways, It was a great trip... NYC is a "unique" place and real change from the norm for me
