Just got back from my root canal appointment at the dentist

The left side of my mouth feels like a giant cottonball.

Procedure wasn't as bad as I expected. Still had to pay $210 with insurance.

did you need a crown to? 210 doesn't seem bad for both.

Nope, no crown. The tooth wasn't rotten, just dead, likely from some sort of trauma that I don't remember. I have a follow up in a few weeks to get a permanent filling.

I had all 4 of my wizdom teach pulled under general a few years back. Don't remember much about that day except a general warm fuzzy/drunk feelng. My mouth ached for about a week after that. Really wasn't that bad considering.

I hate root canals...

When I was younger, I broke off my two front teeth... they have since been replaced with fake ones and everything, but I remember getting two root canals at the same time... man did THAT suck...

Root canals arent as bad as people make them out to be. I'm a total dentaphobe, and had to have a root canal last march. My appt was done over 4 different visits. I also have to go and have a crown put on.. but insurance doesnt cover that.

The work itself isn't painful if they drug you enough, but once the drug wears off it aches pretty good for the rest of the day. I hope you have ibuprofen on hand 🙂

Yeah you really can't feel anything during the procedure. I know some people get freaked out by the noises; the most uncomfortable part for me was holding my mouth open with that damn suction straw in it for ages.

Yep, I can start to feel the novacaine wear off.

i hope your root canal is more successful than mine was. a year after i had mine i began to get pain from that area. $1000 out of pocket and more then a pain in the a$$ later i had to get that tooth pulled and a bridge put in. just be aware that sometimes root canals go bad.
