Despite the absolute blizzard out there, my fiancee and I went... (it's too bad for Honey since it's losing out on some $$$ here in the northeast)... surprisingly, there was a good 20-30 people in the theatre - 7pm. I didn't expect 20-30 people in the entire mall on this night. My fiancee had her doubts going in (she's not a JA fan by any means), but came out actually saying it was a good movie... not just ok... she said it was good. I thought it was at least a solid grade of B. Some scenes and the general knocked-down-but-not-given-up thing have been done many times in many movies so that's probably the only knock I have against it. Still, Jess did a GREAT job playing the role. I'm still in shock she can dance like THAT with no formal training when she was younger. Mekhi was kinda just thrown in there it felt like, but like I've been saying all along, at least he gives the movie some credibility (for those who didn't know JA before). Solid B for sure. It definitely holds its own in a long line of feel-goods.
