Trailer at the beginning: 10/10
First feature: 10/10
Trailers in the middle: 10/10
Tarentino's feature: 5/10

The first movie (Planet Terror) was well worth the ticket, though. It was awesome.

odd... the reviews i was reading today did it exactly opposite...

said the rodriguez was a weak companion and that the tarentino one was head and shoulders ahead of it.

think i'm probably going to see this tomorrow.

Lies. No one hates Pulp Fiction. :p

A LOT of people hate it...I'm not one of them. I love it.

A lot of the reviewers I respect have also said that Tarantino's part is the weaker of the two, despite him being the bigger "grindhouse" fan, as admitted by Rodriguez. Unfortunately, he still sticks to his usual onslaught of conversation despite it being a supposed "grindhouse" piece, which totally drags everything down. But I guess other than the talking, they like his movie :p

I think I'm seeing it Sunday.

Exactly the reviews I've been hearing. They say you should skip the first 30 minutes of QT's Deathproof and you'll have a 10/10 movie experience.

Definitely. I kept waiting, not in suspense, but impatiently, for Kurt Russell to come back on screen. I didn't care about what the characters were talking about for a half hour. It didn't move forward the plot.

Yep, Death Proof wasn't all that great. Not bad by any means, but too much fvcking talking. I'm sure tons of dialog is great in his other movies, but not here. Planet Terror and the trailers were great. I really wish Werewolf Women of the SS was really going to be made. That would so be awesome. :D

Easiest way to describe it, Planet Terror was the orgasm, Death Proof was clumsy foreplay.

I liked Death Proof a lot better than whatshisname's movie, but I'm a big tarantino fan. Trailers were all good.

Too bad there aren't more Tarantino's in the world. Hollywood ran out of ideas long, long ago.

There was a lot of action all around, but for some reason I felt like I was at the theater for 6-7 hours, anyone else feel like that? :p

I liked Death Proof more. It is the more deliberate of the two. I think it seems even slower than it is after watching Planet Terror, but I found it more interesting.

Planet Terror 7/10
Death Proof 8/10

The trailers were funny, too.

I saw it tonight. Was a great movie, I thought Planet Terror was better but Death Proof was good as well. Death proof was kinda slow and boring until half way through for me but I enjoyed the whole film immensely.

Death Proof was the righteous bomb!! It had to be the second feature cause your attention never wavers while watching it. Planet Terror was quite good as well...and the trailers...well, that put Grindhouse over the edge.

It was quite simply one of the best theatrical experiences of my life.

Ah, finally, a sensible one arrives in the thread. I'm gonna see it Sunday. :)

I too just got back.... the whole theater was laughing their a$$es off all through Planet Terror, as well as the trailers (If you're thinking about going in that house... DON'T) and like the last half or so of Death Proof. The opening was very slow, and very confusing as well. I did like though how Kurt Russell's character is all BAMF when he is in his car and chasing people down or something... but nick him with a bullet and chase him down, and he cries like a little girl!

Didn't like it either.

Were you that kid who was born without a brain, back in 1980 something, but managed to defy all science, and live?

I just got back from watching it. Both features were awesome.

I think that it is a little unfair when calling QT's film slow after Planet Terror, which was incredibly fast paced and hilarious.

Death Proof has the most satisfying ending that I've seen in a long time.

Liked both for different reasons. Apple, meet orange.

Regardless, made for an enjoyable evening.

Exactly! We have too many people here, who lounge around, in the comfort of their computer chair, who's arm pads now feel like concrete, due to the extreme pressure put on them, over time. Time for some of you to leave the basement, and get out and see some real light! ;)

I laughed the hardest all night at the Thanksgiving trailer. Especially the part where the maniac pilgrim starts fvcking the turkey. :D
