3000+ people from my town showed up, there was a giant flag hanging from the ladders on a couple fire trucks. First we recited the pledge of alligence then the Mayor spoke, a very nice speech about the state of the nation and remembering the victims. The co-pilot on the plane that went down in PA lived in my town :( They prayed a couple times, some pretty much nondenominational prayer, something that could apply to anyone Jewish or Christian, or even Islam asking for peace for the victims. We all lit candles and held them up and sang God Bless America and the national anthem. It was so touching to see so many people out and see that they cared about out nation. It touched my heart. Anyone else go to an event like this tonight?

Just got back myself, we had the same thing. Our firemen are in NYC helping, and they put them on speakerphone so they could hear us sing. And a little girl sang "I'm Proud To Be An American" to her uncle Kenny, who is one of the firemen down there helping at the WTC. It was nice to see people get together, and know your not alone in the way you feel.

Might as well go to a beer party. Prayer services, oh yah, that will help a whole lot.

Believing in gods is what caused this disaster. Why do we keep promoting that kind of beliefs? :|

oh yeah i know exactly what you mean... a community pulling together to wish support for the dead and their families and to offer support for the people locally, raising money for charities to help with the rescue efforts and an overwhelming feeling of patriotism for one's country.... Its so horrible, they should stop it now before someone else dies. Hell while we're at it why don't we outlaw morals, freedom, and everything else this country was founded on?
