my family stayed at the RIU palace in Playa Del Carmen 2 years ago.. it was AMAZING... just 40 minutes or so south of cancun... i couldnt believe the stuff that was there... 4 bars (open)... 5 restaurants (free)... walk right onto the beach... huge mosaic swimming pool with swim up bar.. just amazing
