Just got back from an interview...

Cliffs: Did a phone interview - and an in person interview.

Yesterday I was scheduled for another interview, some kind of emergency came up and they wanted to reschedule me asap, he called me back 1 hour later - and scheduled for today - I met with him - and the owner....all in all I thought it went well - we all come from same private (catholic school system, of which we ar eboth big supporters)

Anyways my question is - I am currently working at a different place right now, and I need to find out ASAP if I got this job - from my "inside" source - I am the ONLY person that came in person to interview for this position....

What should I do?

I hate waiting...

First off: Don't encourage the plague of illiteracy on ATOT by posting Cliff's Notes for a paragraph.

Seriously: Call them next week and ask how it went? Nothing to lose by calling, and it shows you're interested.....

Well - I see all the big money makers here on ATOT - I live in North dakota... where the average salary is 30k (which Im making) and this position is for 50k...so I would like the extra money ( I know Im poor, and an idiot, and a college grad at that too... )

hahaha... i can understand your curiosity. Thats a huge % jump in your salary, man.. wow.

Well lets just say the IT world here in North dakota is....under appreciated, I am very qualified. However - this is a project management position - according to my inside source - I am the ONLY person that has came back for a 2nd interview, and that it is required that the owner interviews them, they need to fill the position within the next 2 weeks. I feel terrible though, I never call in sick @ work - and lately..... I been under feeling under the weather......God I hate lying. Hate it so much - I love everyone I work with - but Help Desk is making me go insane, and the pay sucks....

You've gotta look out for yourself first man. I know it sucks to basically ditch a job that you don't like, but like the co-workers therein.

I recently ditched my last job to go back to a company I worked with before. I'm making pretty much what I was at the job I left, but I have alot more responsibility and stuff to do. I felt bad for leaving the other store so short staffed (literally just the manager was left after I left. We had been looking for more staff for 2 months, no good aps, the few that were never showed up for interviews/first days).

But you have to look after your own interests or others will simply take advantage of you, or you won't be as happy as you can be. I went back to my old company because I loved working there, and it was a chance to work with a good friend of mine again. It's a much longer drive, and pretty much the same pay rate, but I think it's worth the extra commute.

Given that next week will not count; if you have not had contact by the 29th, place a polite call to your POC and ask if there is any additional information that they may require from you.

This will show interest, but not being pushy.

For now, as pointed out above, send a polite thank-you letter to them for the opportunity of talking with you.

In a second paragraph, re-identify your talents with respect to where they would be able to be utilized.
