Just got an XP-90c

It was delivered to my house yesterday , and can I say OMFG!! I don't know why in the heck I've been waiting to pick up this thing. It absolutely dwarfs the stock cooling on my p4. It is also compatible with LGA775 boards so I can use it when I upgrade!!
I love this thing!!! Can't wait to see what kind of temprature difference it makes once the AC-5 gets settled.

It's good, but there are more efficient coolers out there. Like the Ultra 120 from Thermalright.

I know , I just needed to get a good cooler , and get it quick because I cracked the plastic retainer for the stock heatsink.
The 120 is on backorder everywhere that I looked , and I was able to get the XP-90c for $35.
That's not a bad deal is it? Is the 120 much more effecient? I know it's larger. What about weight?

Your not missing nothing by not having the 120 Ultra..... the XP90c is also a top notch heatsink. A few degrees here and there won`t rock your world!!
Nice heatsink!! 😀

yea , I tell ya , the pictures of it do it no justice. If you've never seen one before , man when you open that box up it's like WOW.

It's still a nice sink, personally I think it's a bit too heavy for it's performance class since the XP-90 that's made of aluminum comes damn close in temperature performance.

Yeah, and when you see teh Ultra 120, your jaw will hit the floor. One thing though, the way they designed the fins, it always looks crooked. From both sides becasue they bent the fins on the opposite ends. 😛

Bah!

According to his sig, he's running a P4P800-E Deluxe. I'll bet it looks fine on that mobo! 😉

Not a bad thing about the HSF what I said, just the "illusion" you get that its crooked. This is while holding it in front of your face and staring at it, not while applied on mobo (it will look straight than ofcourse)

LoL!

Just look at it with the your good eye...

It looks friggin good on there. I wish I would have gotten it a while ago...
Keeps my processor idling at 31-32 deg. celcius... I've not had a chance to load it up yet and see how hot it gets. It's running at stock speeds right now , and I'll give the AC-5 a chance to settle out a bit before I try ramping the clocks up on it to see how high I can get it to go.

I've always considered the XP-90c to be one of the most aesthetically pleasing HSFs! Good choice!

Make sure you cycle your machine during burn-in, e.g. don't leave it running 24/7. Otherwise, it will take forever...
