Just got an iPhone...Got some questions.

Hey guys. Just got an iphone so got some questions about it...
1) How do I get my google contact and calendar info on this?
2) How do I get my own videos and music on this? Do I have to use iTunes? I'd prefer not to.

Do we allow link shorteners?

1: Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account

It's probably possible to do this without iTunes, but it would involve an app on the phone to receive the data in question -- sort of like how GoodReader can accept files through syncing. The only annoyance is then the data is "stuck" with the app in question unless it can be exported to another app. I gave exporting a try with a mp3 that I have in Dropbox, and it wouldn't let me export it to the music app.

It's possible to browse the DCIM folder on an iDevice AFAIK when iTunes isn't installed on Windows (My Computer > iDevice). I imagine if you dropped stuff into that folder, that would be browseable on the iDevice afterwards.

I do not like iCloud.....so I use iTunes and I also use another program called -- Copy Trans....
