Just got an extra 256MB PC133, wow...

My system is MUCH faster now. I don't a whole lot of things at once but windows pop up MUCH faster now and everything just seems smoother. Just got back from a computer show.. grabbed a few things:

Bag of 75 RJ45 Connection Clips: $14
Diamond TNT1 AGP Graphics Card: $5 (!!!)
256MB Micron 7.5ns 2-2-2 PC133: $75
"Shrunk" Floppy Cable for better airflow: $4


Awesome deals and the RAM is awesome. 512MB of PC133 2-2-2 lovin'. Win2000 is saying "thank you" to me right now.

So you had 128 before? If your Running Windows 2000 then definantly you'll see a dif. Since the prices are so low I bought a 256 meg stick for $80 and am @ 512 now, not as much as the improvement over 126 - 256 but it's still nice for the big stuff

 

Oh yea RAM does it for ya.

Yeah I know the connectors weren't a great deal but I needed 'em and they were there. The real deal was the TNT and RAM.

I had 256MB and now I have 512.

kantonburg: Thanks for saying that. That's exactly what I thought when he/she posted that. I thought overall the stuff I bought was at pretty good prices.

Anyway, the real point I wanted to make was the performance increase I've noticing going from 256MB to 512MB.

I have 192MB but most of it is never used for some reason. I have 100MB free right now. I have windows 2000 not sure how to force it to use more RAM and less VM.
