after gettig rejected for a dozen cards, i end up getting one that's not that easy to get. and a 6k limit too. :awe:

now to test it out and buy something that i dont need.

Who accepts Amex besides Costco?

Every time I use my corporate Amex, I cringe hoping they accept it.

All the hotels, rental cars places, and food restaurants accept it....

I double dip and use my Marriott Rewards credit card (visa) but I have never had an issue 🙂

Yeah, all the standard corporate type places. I am talking convenient stores, fast food, general stores, small shops, etc.

Havent had an issue at fast food places either... now mom and pop places I can see that....

i was broke. but i finished up a contract assignment that allowed me to knock 15k in cc bills down. i'll be free and clear soon, so i get to start the cycle again. im one of those that never learn. cut up and cancel the old cards, only to open new ones 🙁 :awe:

What is the point of Amex? Is it just to build credit and the rewards? Unless I'm wrong you have to pay the balance in full every month right?

Not thread crapping, just curious as I get amex offers all the time in the mail.

Blue is just like a "regular" card, you can carry a balance.

I have the Blue Cash card which is pretty nice. 6% back on groceries, 3% on Gas & department stores and 1% on everything else.

It's all I use and I use it for the rewards.... about $350 to $400 in Home Depot cards a year. I pay it in full every month and use it for everything so I don't have much cash on me at any time.
You don't have to pay it off every month but we do. It got me a free Ariens snow blower this year because I saved my points for two years.

Most places accept Amex. Menards does not, and I've run into a couple mom and pop shops that do not. I'd say my acceptance rate is 95%+. In fact, I cancelled my Visa because I hadn't used it in years.
 
Did you get the Amex Blue PREFERRED? Or the shitty no-fee version?

Amex Blue Preferred is the greatest thing since sliced bread. I will take my ~ $1000 a year in rewards cash thank you.
