I've started using an Abit SE6 and have been really dissapointed in it's memory and game performance compared to my Asus p3b-f (bx).

I'm using a 700@980 with a geforce2 gts, cas2 ram and Windows 2000.
Here's one example -
With the bx, in 3dmark 2000, I get a score of over 7000. With the 815e, I get around 4000. That's after checking all my tweaks and drivers for the gforce - everything looks right.

I know there's some intel drivers for this chipset. I'll try them out when I get home. Do they make a big difference?

I'd really like to keep the 815 because of it's features. So any tweaks you guys could recommend would be great :).

Well, I got home and installed those intel 815e drivers. They made a huge difference in games and 3dmark! And increased sandra memory scores by aobut 30 points (still not as high as my bx). My 815e 3dmark score jumped up in the 6800 range.

I'll have to try my bx board again with these drivers and see how much faster it is..

Those drivers won't make any difference to your BX system since support is already built into the OS. Installing the Chipset inf drivers is the biggest boost you can make to an i815E system because Windows (apart from WinME) do not already support the i815E chipset.

Yeah, I was going to get a tbird :)

I think I'll keep the SE6 now and sell my P3B-F. No one seems to like the SE6 anyway.. lots of bad reviews for some reason :)
