Just got a VE246 ASUS LCD monitor

I got this puppy in yesterday and have been messing around with it late last night. I was most likely half awake so maybe I didn't notice but sometimes I see a blue ring or tint of blue on the screen or a blue flickering(i mostly see it when playing BFBC2). I have it hooked up to a 4870 512 mb via DVI to HDMI adapter that came with the card.

So do you think its the card, how its hooked up or monitor need an RMAing?

*UPDATE* Decided to RMA... most pleasant experience I ever had... TD even gave me a shipping label for free. I also decided to order the ASUS VW246H instead which is pratically the same monitor except without all the "green".... works well I am quite content now.

I doubt the first monitor you got was defective. Most panels especially on the budget range require calibration.

I'd save up for an H-ips or S-ips. TN is cheap but has terrible color no matter how calibrated it is.

I dont know... I tried calibrating and no matter what the tint and flickering would just change a different color. Even when I was in desktop and had FF open with multi tabs open when going to different tabs a ring would appear on my desktop. By ring I mean a darker blue ring, about an inch thick and a diameter of about a foot and a half.

Got the new monitor, changed the settings a little and was done. No tinted flickering, no ring and no problems.

I am going to guess it has something to do with it being a "green" monitor or I was unlucky.

When i brought this monitor they said be carefully not to brose the screen when i put it together it will show u even a finger print will come up if you press on the scree to hard
