I don't understand how you were banned without being notified about it ? You should contact them immediatlely. Are you sure you even know why you were banned ?
 
Not true about it being permenant. I got a vacation, and made a new account and they only extended it a week. The mods are fair, and I dont see them killing the poor boy just because he wanted to know how long his vaca was for. Its harmless.
 
I think that sometimes an account may just get completely deleted, for example I would expect whoops to disappear very soon, and magically all his posts will disappear as well....
