Ok, so i just got a trojan... command.exe, and it installed a hell of a lot of everything... I ran spybot, used moveonboot to get rid of run.exe and command.pf, then rebooted into safe mode, used system restore to a few days ago, then ran sbybot again... it looks like it's gone... the crap it put on my desktop is all gone, and the command.exe process is gone, as is TSA from my programs list. Everything seems to be working fine, but i'd like to be sure there is nothing lurking in the shadows.

Do you have antivirus software installed? If so, what brand, and what precise version of it?

If you don't have any, I can suggest this: free 30-day trial of Kaspersky Antivirus Personal 5 and set it up as shown in this Windows Media Player movie clip. Update it, reboot after the update, and launch a full system scan. Then take a snack break 🙂 it's going to take some time. It'll uninstall without a fuss at the end of the trial period.

thanks, i'll give it a try... i used to use antivir, and i tried avast, but i didn't like either
I have one change to my previous suggestion: first update and reboot, then configure.

The reason is that the options change slightly for the On-Demand Scan option list after you've updated, it adds the option to prompt you for action AFTER the scan has run to completion, instead of prompting you for an action on each item detected during the scan as it runs.

oooh, thanks guys... i tried kapersky... it found all sorts of little remnants of trojans. clean now! woohoo!
