Just got a TDK 12x10x32. How can I burn MPEGs onto a CD so that they start playing when you insert the disk.

I want to burn MPEGs(movies) to a disk so that they can be played on DVD players as well as CDROMs. I have heard you can burn it, then when you insert the CD the movie plays, but I just did my first burn with this drive using Nero and it burned the movie fine, but I have to search for it then double click it to play it, and it doesn't even have the same name as the file I put on the CD. How do i do this.

Also I bought some Memorex CDR's with a black face, it appears as though my TDK won't recongnize them when they are in the drive, is this true or can i fix it. LMK

InCD is packet writing software. It allows you to write to the CDRW like it was a floppy drive by dragging files to it in Explorer. It sucks and I had some stability problems from it so I uninstalled it.

I'm not sure what you mean by your second question. What drivers? Ahead recommends disabling Auto-Insert Notification when using a burner and that's what most people do.

Yeah that is what I did as well, it's no big deal. It's just that when I got done installing all the software a box poped up and said that nero was able to burn CD's while the auto insert was on if you install the drivers. i clicked the box that said install and it said it couldn't find them. Oh well i guess

I just got one of these drives as a temp drive while waiting for my plex 16x. This drive is pretty nifty. Comes with a video and all these little things used for designing the cd I guess. LOL!

Sounds like you have the IDE channel disabled. Double check the bios settings. Can you see the drive in Device Manager? Try setting it as master on its own channel. Look at the manual also. It says to assign a particular DMA settting in your bios, but I forget which one. 2 I think.

Go to Nero. com and get the latest update also. I also uninstalled InCD.

That was my fault I should have been more specific, I don't mean MP3's, I am talking about MPEG movies.
I don't think musics match will help me much for that.

Answer what?

Did you burn it in Nero as a SVCD? If that the case you need DVD software to play it. It will not autorun. If you burned it as a VCD your on your own, I've never burned them. Make sure your DVD player supports CDR's...alot won't.

The key to Auto-Insert CD's in Windows is the AUTORUN.INF file in the root directory of the CD. Grab any commercial software and inspect that file. You'll get the hang of it after a little experimenting.

well, I already own Nero, it came with the TDK, but the upgrade is extra?
I think I burned it as a VCD, can i just burn the mpeg to the disk as a data CD?

What does the autorun.inf have to do with anything?

Yes you can burn it as a straight MPEG and the CD-Rom will play it but no normal DVD player will (heard rumors that a Pioneer can). The autorun.INF is a file that needs to be on the cd and edited for your particular situation to autorun the CD you make

Autorun.Inf

Oh okay, I get it? I will have to work with it a little.

So do I need to buy that software or is there an easier way to do it.
