So my main problem is i have an analog geforce3 ti200, but I have noticed a lot of ghosting in some games, especially counter strike. I expected ghosting, but not this much. Any brightness or contrast settings that can improve this? Do i need a better vid card with DVI or something? I enjoyed the way it looked watching movies and DVD's so far, very little ghosting but cs is pretty bad on it. Any ideas? Also, how the hell do you switch between the two inputs? ehhe... guess i have to rtfm.

edit:eek:ops...hehe... pressed exit and it switched to the other monitor.. hehe

CS is supposed to be pretty bad as far as ghosting goes.
I think the native resolution for your monitor is 1280x1024, I don't play CS but I don't know if the resolution goes up that high? I didnt think it did, could be wrong..

In either case if you're not running at native resolution ghosting tends to be a little worse. For example my LCD (Sony Personal Entertainment Display) is hooked up to my PS2 via component inputs, PS2 doesn't support the native resolution of 1280x768 (only works in 480i, not 720p or 1080i... anyways....) so the ghosting is a little bit more noticeable. On computer games like 007 Nightfire I notice next to no ghosting.

Yeah..what he said, and get a better video card with DVI. Honestly, if you can afford that 191T, then do it justice by getting some DVI love.

Unfortantely there's nothing you can do. The 191t has terrible ghosting on grays. Switch monitors to reduce the ghosting. Switching to DVI and increasing the brightness in the software should help a little.

I would have "settled" for a 17" hitachi to get rid of ghosting, but really wanted the 19". I don't think there are any 19" under $1000 that have a much better refresh rate, and I'm mostly concerned with doing normal work on it. I also renewed my Best Buy service plan on it, so if it goes bad sometime in the future i get a comparable 19" LCD (which means i'll get something faster). The reason i ended up getting this one right now is because my 19" Viewsonic crt that I spent $499 on in 2000 was making a high pitch nosie. They offered to swap me their best 19" which sucked compared to what I had so I decided to upgrade to the crt. Fortunately new games look better on this thing than older ones, and I'm not THAT big of a gamer. The thing looks great for movies and just regular text though, and once i get a DVI card, it should rock.

If anyone knows if there is anything else to try to reduce ghosting, lmk.
