I work at CVS Pharmacy, I was hired (a little over 3 months ago) and paid as a hourly clerk (work the registers )
But i did a lot of work in the photo lab since then with no formal training
Now the temp assistant manager at our store is getting a promotion to a new store, he has offered me the position of shift supervisor! Ill be working for manager that I get along with! the current one is creepy and hits on my friends

One problem, im going from a 10 minute drive to a 20 minute drive
Would you take the offer?

I drive a 1994 Nissan Altima gives 26 mpg, and work 40 hours a week

I would think its a yes, but the way gas prices are going up should i just stay?
Edit:

Took the offer!

Congrats to you :)
And, I would weigh out the extra time vs. raise, etc first. I would say yes as 20 minutes is not that bad.

It somewhat equals out. The pay raise and the gas mileage that is. Do it.

Tally it up and see how much gas you actually use difference.

You get an extra 54$ a day, I don't see how you can be using that much gas a day

The increase in income is well worth the difference in gas. Plus you get something nicer to put on the resume :)

I'll stand to have an 8 minute commute this summer, 6 if I get through all 3 traffic lights easily.:D

City life is so different than a rural setting. Back home, it was about 25 minutes to get to just about any kind of big business. The nearest town was 5 miles away, and it had a post office and a feed mill. Fun times there.

Dam, CVS starts at $9.25 an hour? And $16/hr is a lot.

I applied for an internship at some fiber optics company. I easily fill all the requirements and they just posted it a few days ago. I hope I get it. $13/hr and it's part time. (I don't want to do FT just yet)

is this a bragging post in disguise?? well, if it is, let me tell you this, $16/hr is not a lot of money, most modest people on ATOT make 6figures! :)

Missing one red light or coming out at the wrong time from my neighborhood to the main road could cost me 10 min right there. A 20 min commute would be heaven for the majority of workers I would think.
