I can't wait for the Superbowl. My ears are still ringing from the NFC Championship game (7th row baby!). To mark the occasion I got a brand new projector for my Superbowl party. I really don't have the option of mounting it on the ceiling so I'll need a stand to stand the projector behind my couch. Any suggestions?

No, I've been looking for a reason to buy one for years. I'm getting a Pannasonic AE700 for the curious. I have a rebate for $400 an incentive package for 30 movie rentals that sealed the deal. PM me if interested and I'll email the pdf to you. Can be found though google as well.

Just get a table/coffee table and prop it up. My friend has one and he just points it at a big blank white wall...works fine.

The newer AE900 is supposed to be better, is that an option for you?

ghetto shelf since we can't mount to the ceiling here

(weights are so the shelves don't vibrate when the sub goes nuts)

:) I'd put more effort into it if I knew we were going to be here for longer than 1 school year.

Congrats!! I have the AE700, and love it. Is mounting it on a shelf on the wall behind your sofa an option?

I have a Benq projector. Fantastic little thing, some of the best money i've ever spent (but i haven't had to replace the bulb yet). I'm so ghetto i have it sitting on a couple of stacked storage boxes!

You started this thread stating you 'just got', but in each of your posts you say you are 'getting', meaning not gotten. So, you hadn't gotten a projector, really, when you started this thread, right?

Make sure you get a chance to control the light in the room as front projection pretty much demands it or the end result is a washed-out condition. I've had people over two of the three past Superbowls for viewing the game in HD in my media room, which is front projection. This year we are sticking to the 65" RPTV for a football-game centered viewing in the family room.

I've had an AE700 for some time now and sporting events shown in HDTV look fantastic. Be aware that analog sources on your cable are not going to look very good. Crap in = crap out, except magnified.

Check out some more while you're at it. You can really make it look amazing if you want to.

Screen is too small imo for a room that size. For front seats, it would be good, but 2nd, and definitely 3rd is too small.

I agree, but I sure like the room.
