component > s-video > composite > rf

I've found that s-video makes the picture sharper than, say, rf, but it doesn't really do much for the color. Component cables REALLY make a color difference on my tv.

Component cables split out the video into Red, Green, and Blue plus the two left and right audio cables.

Your DVD player might not support component. If it does, it will be clearly labeled on the unit.

Ok I checked and I do have component outs. can I just use an extra set of rca cables for it? Or do I need to buy a special cord?

just make sure your tv has component inputs :)

I bought my component cable off ebay. do a search for Python brand cables, they're pretty nice and very inexpensive.

No TV's in the UK or Europe have component cables.

Pretty much everything uses SCART, one big cable to plug in that does the lot. It's a brilliant connector.

It can carry Composite, S-Video or RGB signals, so there's no loss of quality. Wonderful invention.
