1)Remove old hard drive from computer
2)set the jumpers correctly on the hard drive, mount it into the new desktop. Your old computer had EIDE drive, I assume
3)turn on computer, see if Windows recognizes your old drive
4)copy and pastey your important "stuff"
5)aloe lotion and tissue paper
6)messy profit


Edit: sorry didn't even read the other post. 3rd option, long shot but might work, do a ghost disk to disk. See if Windows doesn't go haywire and just reinstalls the hardware drivers. I've done it at work for older dells for Win XP Pro.
