It's a little hard to get excited about hard drives anymore. With prices as low as they are, anyone can stuff 1TB in their computer for ~$400. I remember it was at least double that much some months back.

Same with RAM. People with 2GB or more were 1eet, but with 1GB running about $60-$70, that is also too easy a goal to reach.

I hate the prices here.

Up here, those 400 GB Seagates are still a buck a gig.

I've been waiting & waiting for them to become cheaper...but no :frown:

my 400GB is now 200GB full/empty
i also have 2x300GB on a 600GB RAID 0 setup. that has 50GB left.

i think the pr0n industry owns hard drives companies... :(

When are the 500 gigers supposed to come out? I've got plans for a new 3TB fileserver... muwhahahaha.

BAH! In addition to my 8 monitor goodness upgrade in my office, we just brought our 16TB iSCSI SAN online as well. Storage as far as the eye can see. It's actually 32TB, but the other 16TB is at our backup location.

I got it for $189:D...well not me, but the price was $189

Wow! I'm going to hold out for the SATA one to hit around $150 before I jump on it. This drive has been rated extremely well by basically every site that I've seen cover it- huge capacity and awesome performance while staying quiet and cool, very nice. :)
