I just got a Razr like i know many of us all did through the deals here. Now i'd like to get the bluetooth working with my computer so i can send ringtones and whatever to my phone. of course the bluetooth adapter will not detect the phone even after i put it in "find me" mode which it supposedly does for 60 seconds. ive tried a bunch of times and it just won't work. any help would be appreciated.

i think there is for looking for other devices so i can send data from my phone to the other devices, but it won't work for receiving stuff. i know someone has this phone and has done this..... just too many people here not to have done it

Most US cell companies have disabled the data bluetooth profile (PBX I think it's called) on bluetooth enabled phones. If you have a bluetooth dongle on your PC you should be able to tell it to explore, same with your phone, and they can connect to one another, but only if the phone has the correct profile in it. If it doesn't then you're stuck with DUN/handsfree.

in the manual it specifically states that the bluetooth can be used for connecting and transferring pictures, audio, etc from your pc to your phone and phone to pc. i of course have the computer searching at the time i have my phone in the explore mode, yet it cannot find the phone.

That doesn't mean much though. The Motorola V710 is designed to do that, and the manual states that it can, but Vzn put their own version of the firmware on it and specifically locked out Bluetooth from it. Motorola will not give you an updated version to bypass it, because of a contract that they have with Vzn. Vzn claims it's for "security" reasons so you don't pickup a Bluetooth transmitted virus by accident, but either way it isn't there.

Call your provider and ask them if it's supported, and what the best way to go about it is. Their tech support is there to help.

What carrier other than Verizon? Cingular doesn't, and I'm pretty sure T mobile doesn't either!!

Did you put your PC in discovery mode too?
