Just got a Harmony 880

Thanks to SLCentral.com and Logitech's PR department, I got a free Logitech Harmony 880 today. Arrived around noon, and finally finished getting it set up around 3. Took much longer then expected, but I suppose that has something to do with my complex setup (DLP TV, Comcast HD DVR, old Denon receiver, Denon CD player, HTPC with MCE).

All my components work great together, and the color screen is really nice looking. It's actually much easier to use then I thought it would be. My 60-year-old dad uses it just fine, as does his technology-challenged wife.

Expensive (MSRP is $250), but if you have a confusing setup, most definitely worth it.

does it have any way to control mouse movement? like a touchpad of some sort?

That's what I was hoping for too, but, no, as nothing actually connects to the computer. It just all uses IR.

yeah its an awesome remote.... my 880 arrives on monday (but i paid 180 for it). It can control moust but its very hard to do and I have a gyration mouse for my htpc anyways. I does work with media center very nicely though.

Belkin Media Keyboard

anyone have experience with this?

Not sure as to what it has to do with the Harmony remote, but I would assume that the mouse wouldn't be very precise to control, and would be better suited for the occasional use, such as if you're running an HTPC and need to use a mouse very rarely.

Just got mine yesterday and set it up today.

I'm not going to say I'm done because a new DVD player is on the way, but so far I'm happy with it.

It takes a bit of time to get everything set up (at least for me it did).

Pioneer 1014 receiver
Infocus screenplay 4805 projector
Sony n88 vcr
apex 2600 dvd
sherwood 2030 bass shaker receiver

I got mine for $183 shipped.

Does anyone make a universal remote that uses both IR and RF? I have a Kenwood VR-4090 receiver that uses an RF remote, and unfortunately it's a pretty annoying one. It's a rather ambitious universal remote itself, with IR and RF, but I don't know if any aftermarket ones would work as replacements.
