Just got a FREE Super Nintendo - so what games should i get for it?

I have a handfull of games that came with it. Don't know anything about Super Nintendo being that I've never been a console. But what the hell, it was free! Games are next to nothing in cost now that its an obsolete system.

So which games do you recommend?

man, the super nintendo had one of the (if not the) best library of games. Some of my favorites included super mario world, alien 3, mario kart, and star fox. I was not a big fan of RPG's at the time, so someone else would have to help you with that. I think there was a game called Chrono-Trigger for SNES that was supposed to be really good as well, dunno for sure though.

Anyway, a few games I like:

Killer Instinct (very nice 2d beat-em-up)
Super Mario World (I've played through this game at least 3 times, and found something I'd never seen before every single time)
Legend of Zelda 3 - Link to the Past (very fun, and pretty long too)

Can't think of anything else at the moment.

Super Street Fighter II - best SF game evar.

Ken Griffey Presents Major League Baseball is probably the best baseball game on SNES. Very easy to just pick up and play. The second one Ken Griffey's Winning Run was good, but didn't have the arcade feel to it.

If you want an f-ing stupid "why, oh why did they make this game," look for Bill Laimbeer's Combat Basketball.

I've played about all of the games in this thread and they kick butt. Yoshi's island is actually really fun, go figure. I beat chrono trigger twice, and it has to be one of the best RPGs. If you like that, then get a Playstaion and play the sequel, chrono chross.
