Hi Guys, I heard this MB doesn't overclock well--so I guess I'm looking for the best bang-for-the-buck CPU for the MB... if it DOES OC, then tell me which CPU!

Thanks :)

okey...

This question requires sooooooooooooooooooo much more additional info.

What your telling us is this, hey guys i just bought a navigation for a car. What car should i buy?

:p

1. Budget
2. What do you do with your computer
3. Quadcore or Dualcore?

You looking for the best bang of the buck with awesome OC. E7200 and E7300, Dualcore
However you need a quadcore? Still hard to beat the Q6600.

ahhh ok.

So, I do gaming--I am running dual 2900xt cards with crossfire. I don't konw whether to go dual core or quad-core. I like 45nm because of less-power consumption, more overclocking. I was thinking e8400, but don't know if q6600 is better--I think budget around $200 but if something gives me a long more bang, I'll go $250. Or if something is just marginally less bang, I'll go $150.

Does that help?

Be nice if I could get somehting and OC and get more bang out of it! Got a CM stacker 830 case and bought about 6 additional case fans, so it should run pretty cool. Should I get an oem chip and custom cooler? I'm not that technical, so I'm thinking just retail box.

thanks again, guys!

by far a E7200 or E7300 is the absolute best bang for your buck then.

Seems like what you do wont utilize a quadcore unless your game includes supreme comander.

this board DOES overclock... I currently have an X3350 on it OC'd to 3.00Ghz and the memory (DDR3 1600 Crucial Ballistix) clocked at 1600 and running seti 24/7 with no errors and no problems. I'm running Vista ultimate 64. The cpu is on stock voltage and the memory is at 1.9 volts

I've gotten it to boot into windows with the cpu at 4Ghz and the memory at 2GHz... and that was a complete accident too... I wasn't trying to get that.... I like to do mild OCs.
