Just got a DVD gift basket... have you seen Glengarry GlenRoss?

Has anyone seen this movie? It stars Al Pacino, Jack Lemmon, Alec Baldwin, Ed Harris, Alan Arkin, and Kevin Spacey.

I just got a gift DVD package with: Glengarry GlenRoss, Made, Swingers, Dirty Dancing, Power Yoga Plus, and Roger Dodger... I haven't seen any of them except Dirty Dancing, and Glengarry GlenRoss looks really good... I'm surprised I haven't heard about it before.

Watch Roger Dodger first - freakin' hilarious movie! 😀😀😀

EDIT
Sorry, didn't answer your question at all - no clue about Glengarry / Glenross . . . sorry 😱

Thanks for the recommendation... I'm kinda in the mood for comedy, so I think I'll check it out tonight. 🙂

Well, let me warn you, though - it's not slapstick, but a bit darker - hilarious nontheless.

Smart/dark humor? Like The Royal Tennenbaums?

Yeup. I only have 3 DVDs, and those two (Roger Dodger and The Royal Tenembaums) are 2 of them . . . 😉

Glengary Glen Ross is quite possibly the best performance of Alec Baldwin's career. A classic scene.

It's a great movie, and I've seen it many times. However, it's not something you are going to laugh out loud. It's very dry, sarcastic, and subtle. Al is great, and Jack Lemmon is perfect.

That says a lot... thanks again, I'll watch it first, tonight after work. 🙂

I didn't enjoy it all that much, but it's decent.

Alec Baldwin plays an excellent asshole.

Guess it doesn't require too much acting.

!!!

If I'm not too tired I'll watch this one tonight, after Roger Dodger... it looks like a pretty intense movie, though...

Swingers and Roger Dodger are awesome movies😀 I heard Glengarry GlenRoss was awesome... I havent got around to watching it however.

Glengarry Glen Ross is an excellent movie. Alec Baldwin has the best 10 minutes of his career. All of the other actors put in stellar performances. The writing is excellent and the "dirty sales" environment portrayed in the movie is unfortunately very real (but thankfully not very common).

Glengarry GlenRoss is on my top 10 list of best movies. Yes, it is that good. Be warned though, about 90% of the movie takes place in an office. Its like watching a play with some of the finest actors alive. If you like the Simpsons, I believe Gil,the schlep salesman was modeled after Jack Lemmon's character. Fantastic movie, and some top notch acting to boot.

Peace

90%? O_O Like 90% of the movie took place in a phone booth in Phone Booth? Yet it's still riveting/interesting?

awesome movie!!! I watch it regularly, along with Boiler Room and Wall Street...if anyone is in sales these three movies are a must!!!

Totally brilliant film. Hilarious. Best line in the movie, by Alec Baldwin:

"Number one: Who are you? What's your name? Number two: F*ck you, that's my name. You know why? 'Cause you drove a Hyundai to get here tonight and I drove an eighty thousand dollar BMW. That's my name. You see this watch? This watch cost more than your car. I made $970,000 dollars last year - how much did you make? You see pal, that's who I am, and you're nothing. Nice guy? I dont give a sh*t. Good father? F*ck you. Go home and play with your kids. You wanna work here - close."

I dont know what you are implying, or if you are being sarcastic, but what I should have said was: Be warned this isnt an action flick/chick flick/shootem up. It simply takes place in an office and is like watching a play and this turns a lot of folks off to this movie.

Peace

"Oh, have I got your attention now? Good. 'Cause were adding a little something to this month's sales contest. As you all know first prize is a Cadillac Eldorado. Anybody want to see second prize? Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you're fired." 😛

"You know what it takes to sell real estate? It takes brass balls to sell real estate. Go and do likewise gents."

For 7 minutes, Baldwin was a god in that movie...
