funny, i get XP for free at my school.

Yes, I could have done it the free way too, but do you get the actual XP Pro CD and also is your license for an individual or is it a Vol license?

:cookie: to you if you do.

I could have downloaded it for free, but having the actual CD is pretty nice. So now I have two WinXP product keys (they gave me a different one for the one I downloaded too).

Also got VB.Net sent to me for $15. Basically just paying for the CDs and shipping.

I got it for $0 with MSDN Academic Alliance 😀

All of this is completely free too for CS majors at my school:

Windows Server 2003
Visual Studio.net 2003 Pro
Visual Studio 6
Visio Pro 2003
Project Pro 2003
SQL Server 2000 Dev
Access 2003

And some other/older versions of some of that stuff.

I thought this was a scam when I first saw the email, heh.

Yes, that's exactly what we have also. I just decided to go the shipping route and get the actual CD, which is nice.

Microsoft gave me Visual Studio.NET and Windows XP Professional for $3 total. Oh, and it came with some cool stuff like Microsoft breath mints in the shape of VS.NET logo, an MS pen, MS t-shirt that was shink-wrapped and shaped into the VS.NET logo, an MS pad of paper, and other useless various-levels-of-fun items. 🙂
