Just got a compaq cq60 - 1 question

I've never owned a laptop before - so this may be a real simple question.

On a compaq laptop is it normal for the power cord to be in such a way that it can wiggle maybe 1 - 2 millimeters up and down (in other words I can wiggle it around with my fingers) - is that normal?

Other than that it seems solid. . . .
