Just got a Canon S400 Digital Camera as a gift....should I keep or exchange for another?

Hello,

Topic says it all...I just got back from overseas and was thrilled to recieve a Canon S400 as a gift! It replaces my 2MP Kodak DC280 and stops me from stealing my mothers 4MP Sony DSC-85 😉

Basically I've been out of the loop a bit...I know it's a 4MP camera but are there 5MP cameras out there for the same price range? Do I need 5MP? Thanks for your help!

Keep it. I love mine. (When I was shopping for mine, most of the 5MP cameras in the same size category actually had worse looking output than Canon's 4MP Digic chip.)
 
That Canon S400 is better than most larger 5MP camera out there. Sold my Canon S30 picked up the Canon Rebel 300 but already miss the compact size of the S30, I have the S400 on my to buy list soon.
 
Never used the S400, but I just bought a Fuji Finepix s5000, very awesome camera, its 3.1 MP but has a setting for 6 MP. Oh and 10x optical zoom (2.2 Digital Zoom) is just flat out awesome. Feels like an SLR
 
keep it. My s400 is my 3rd digicam and by far the best for my needs. Powerful, excellent pictures, and most of all, it's highly portable. The portability allows you to take it along with you more often, which is when the best picture opportunities happen!
 
keep it. with its pic quality, size, and the manuall controls it have...if u need them..
its gonna be a great camera to keep for a long time.....

why switch to a bulkier or worse quality 5mp camera....unless u wanna spend more..and dun care about size....

BTW if u planning on selling it, let me know, i'm interested in it😀
