...saying that I've been accepted as a new Reserve Officer! It's been a long process (since November), but I'm finally there. My first meeting is this Tuesday. :D

Edit: Here's a thread detailing part of the process.

Haha, that'd suck. Luckily I recognized the voice of the Officer that called. ;)

I'll let that slide since I'm in a good mood. ;)

Well if you weren't speeding, why did I pull you over? ;)

We've lost another one to the dark side.

It depends on where you are. There were ~100 applicants for both full-time & Reserves here this year, 30 full-time applicants made it to the interview stage (they were planning on hiring 5 or so) and only 3 made it to the reserve interview stage. The steps were...

1. Written exam.
2. Physical Agility test.
3. Background investigation.
4. Polygraph.
5. Panel Interview.

Full-timers also have to take a psychological exam and have a physical...not sure if I'll have to do that.

Congrats. I started out as a reserve officer Level II in DC. It was a blast and a good experience.

Not for long. :)

Calling it quits? :Q

I have been trying for months to move into the real world. All I do now as an officer is write grants(beg the State and Federal government to give the county money) and mess around with computers. 3 years and I am ready to change.

You don't get to do patrol or any of the fun stuff!? Which agency do you work for? MPDC?
