And I'm a little dissapointed...

0448.. was really expecting an 05 :(

the whole code is:
ADA3200AEP4AX
CBAZC 0447UPCW
1148284K40485
can anyone tell me anything good or bad from their experiences?

why would you want an 05? The 04's have much better overclocking potential you shold be pretty happy.

Better check and make sure you got what you ordered? 939 3200+ are Winchesters.

The codes you have listed aren't a Winchester! It is a newcastle S754. If you have a S939 motherboard this chip won't work

S939 Winchester = ADA3200DIK4BI
S754 Newcastle = ADA3200AEP4AX

And also its not a week 48 its a week 47 CBAZC0447UPCW

The Winchesters that the EGG are currently shipping are 05's

yeah, that's why people are getting 2.6+ out of their new 05s right? :p

People are getting way to hung up on the week code. It only signifies the week that it was packaged, not when it was manufactured. And from what I've seen there is no correlation between the week code and overclock ability. I've seen guys getting 2.6-2.7 on air with week 51's which are supposed to be terrible. And I've seen people who could only get 2.2 from a week 48 which is supposed to be the best. How well a particular chip overclocks is luck of the draw.

Now the difference in rev #'s D0 vs E3(sse3 and strained silicon?) may make a difference, but that is yet to be seen

well my 3000+ is week 48 and can't pass Prime past 2.5GHz

so anyway, I received a s754??? how can i verify this? is there a white paper on AMD's website? or should i call newegg and see if they know the codes? my invoice says winchester so it's not my fault. At work btw, won't be able to install till later tonight.

Just look at the pictures of the OEM chips on Neweggs website, they plainly show the codes I did before I posted. Or you can count the pins:) I guarantee you won't count 939

*edit* I'll save you the trouble

3200+ S754 Newcastle

3200+ S939 Winchester

AMD's model number is also Neweggs part number, so the model number on your invoice should be different from the number on your chip. Newegg definately messed up and cost you a few days, you won't be assembling your rig tonight:(, they should be willing to handle the overnight shipping charges both ways since its their screwup.

Yep the proof is in the DIK4BI...all winchester have this after the 3000 or 3200 or 3500 in the code.....

Week doesn't mean crap...I am a week 36 ppl...first one I tried....

I would bet that at least 1/2 of the ppl who biatch about weak ocing results from late 04's or 05'S DONT KNOW WHAT THE HECK they are doing...user fault....They lack the research when they bought their components...they get boards that limit them (lack of research), they dont know how to set the bios...they dont know how to set the ram not to limit themselves...they buy crappy PSUs....and on and on.....

I say this cause I have never had a bad ocing chip in the only 9 cpus I have ever bought with intention to oc....Cmon 9 for 9!!!! I dont think so.....YMMV still holds true, but I think it is more rare to get a bad ocing A64 winchester then it is to get a 2.5-2.6ghz chip (look at my poll for the numbers and analyse them so far)...the odds are in your favor if you pull your head out and do the research and dont skimp on other components....

1.8a@2.45ghz
1.8a@2.61ghz
1.6a@2.74ghz
2.4b@3.33ghz
Barton 2500+@2.3ghz
2.6c@3.25ghz
Tbred 2100+@2.1ghz
2.4c@3.51ghz
A64 3000+@2.66ghz

All on air...all with around 10% vcore adjustment or less!!!

I don't know if week contributes, but my week 51 can only do 2.2, and Duvie can attest to that ! 2.3 for everything but F@H, but even that is far below most peoples

well, since it was my fault (clicked on the newcastle) they issued an RMA for refund on the newcastle and i ordered the winnie. i talked them into giving me 10 dollars off of next day shipping for it, so it'll be in Monday. :(

a little off topic, but hey, it's my topic...
question: i'm currently using BIOS mod137 or something like that for a Neo Plat 2

is there a way to flash the BIOS w/in windows like you can do for ATI cards and such? I was thinking about trying the 136Modded version. i don't have a floppy installed, that's why i ask. actually, does anyone know for a fact that there is a better version than these available for flashing?

overclocking results experiences are useless now that everyone and their dog are overclocking IMHO. your run of the mill n00bs trying to overclock their compaq or bone stock case/psu/hsf and unstable bios settings cloud the oc databases. Not to mention inefficient use of cooling fans and improperly placed HSFs.

get dissapointed by crappy results not little markings.

Now aren't you glad you NewEgg!
Just checked, my winnie is in Memphis right now headed south, should see it Monday. I'm supprised to only see 2.5 when I know someone with an XP2200 running at 2.4 to 2.5, but he did mention somthing about a limit on the multipliers for the 939s. (Yes he did the wire thing, short 2 pins on the socket).
