Although I will admit once I used the ATI driver remover tool and installed the newer Forceware things have been pretty decent so far ..

Happy to hear it, I just switched from an ATI 9800 Pro R360 core flashed to an XT. I must say buying the 6800gt is the Best upgrade I have EVER done. I did to a clean OS install and it has been great.

Hope you get the card working for you nvidia has done a GREAT job with the 6800 and it would be a shame that you would not beable to be part of it.
