Just got a 360, noob question about included component cable and sdtv

Until I get an HDTV I have a standard 27" tube. It has one set of component inputs. Can I somehow get the 360 to display standard definition over the component cables? Right now I'm just using the single yellow composite.

When I plugged in the component cables out of the box the screen was basically black, so is there a way to send a standard def picture over the component wires?

Yep you can send an SD picture via the component cables if you set the little switch on the end that plugs into the 360 from HDTV to SDTV.
